This is an information resource center for the victims
of stalking. The goal of this web site is to provide stalking victims,
mental health professionals, and law enforcement personnel with
scientifically validated, continuously updated information to help
prevent stalking and its negative consequences.
Because
anti-stalking legislation was passed only recently, most states,
including Texas, do not maintain separate statistics on the rates
of stalking complaints, arrests, or convictions (Office of the Attorney
General of Texas, personal communication). For this reason, the
statistics we cite are drawn from studies of stalking conducted
by our lab during the past year with funding from the Texas Governor's
Office Criminal Justice Division, combined with research conducted
outside of Texas.
We hope that you find this web site to be a valuable
resource. We rely on your feedback to update and improve the site.
